Legumes cultivation in Western Macedonia present a high growth. During the ast decade the cultivated areas have doubled in acres especially for beans, lentils and fava.

The experience of the producers, the excellent Greek varieties perfectly adapted to the local soil and climate conditions, the cultivation at an altitude of over 600m, the cold winters and the mild, long spring, the know-how of the geotechnicians all together combine to give products of unique taste, rich in proteins and minerals, with a short cooking time, special aromas and excellent taste.

Modern processing companies that have sprung up in the area ensure that the pulses are packaged and distributed in a branded and safe manner. Their distribution throughout the territory as well as the increase in exports helped pulses get the expeptionality they deserve.
