The history of Alfa begins in the 1950s, in a beautiful Macedonian city with a long history and tradition, Kozani. A city that stands out for its hospitality and gastronomy, which is based on traditional recipes and the purest ingredients of the Greek land.

Here, the family business takes its first steps, founded by Athanasios Koukoutaris, who begins the handmade production and sale of pies in his town.

In 1965, A. Koukoutaris O.E. was founded. The company acquires a car and begins distribution in the surrounding prefectures of Kozani.
In the 1980s, the traditional pie with rustic phyllo spreads. Mass production is now a fact and packaged traditional pies are entering every Greek home. In 1985, S.A. was formed. that exists today. alfa becomes the first company to give a name to pies - and to the taste! In the 1990s, the company modernized and its sales spread nationally.
In 1996, new facilities are created in Kozani, initially covering 4,500 sq.m.

Today, the facilities have reached 12,000 sq.m. In 1998 the Kixi pie entered the retail market. It is the year that the alfa company launches, with the traditional Kozani pie Kixi spreading nationwide, conquering in a short time, a huge consumer audience. Today, alfa is a leader in the Greek food market, with 50 regional distributors and 11,000 sales points. It operates in the retail sector (retail, supermarkets, etc.), as well as in the catering sector (bakeries, pastry shops, mass catering, hotels, etc.). In 2003 the pies start to be exported all over the world.

Exports are growing rapidly, currently covering more than 30 countries expanding to Europe, USA, Canada and Australia. The alfa factory is one of the most modern production units in Europe. 50 years of alfa.. 50 years of innovations and unique tasty creations!
